Hydraulic Excavator Operator Training
Build the safety knowledge and practical operating skills needed to operate a hydraulic excavator responsibly. The programme combines theory, simulator training and supervised hands-on operation using a Develon 225 excavator.

The programme takes participants from essential safety and machine knowledge through to supervised practical operation.
Participants will cover:
Safe hydraulic excavator operation
Workplace safety and housekeeping
Machine familiarisation
Operator responsibilities
Preventative maintenance
Excavator controls and operating techniques
Pre-operation inspections
Manoeuvring
Excavating
Loading
Correct machine shutdown procedures
Practical training will be conducted using a Develon 225 excavator.

Do I need previous excavator experience?
No previous experience is required for this Level 1 programme.
Do I need any educational qualifications?
No formal educational requirements apply.
What documents do I need?
A valid National ID and TIN Certificate. Scans, photocopies and in-person submissions are accepted.
Can companies register employees?

Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. Successful participants receive a Certificate of Competence in Hydraulic Excavator Operation Level 1 issued by FARMSUP.
What happens if I do not pass an assessment?
Remedial work can be provided, and assessments may be retaken.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
